On Saturday, October 21st, you can participate in a Japanese-style lantern festival. Located at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Delray, the event celebrates a traditional Japanese festival. The festival is in the spirit of Obon, the event that the Japanese use to honor their ancestors who come back to visit the living.
The festival will feature Japanese dancing, a street fair, drumming, and a lantern ceremony. In a traditional style, you can watch floating lanterns light up the night sky. On the day of the event, the museum and gardens will close at 4 pm. People can attend the event from 4 pm to 8 pm. In September, tickets will be available online.
2. Boynton Beach Haunted Pirate Fest and Mermaid Splash
Who doesn’t wish they were a pirate? On October 21st and 22nd, you can celebrate the pirate life in downtown Boynton Beach. With pirate re-enactments and a pirate-inspired parade, the event is fun for all . For those with a competitive spirit, you can enter the Hooks and Tails pirate costume competition. Or, you can enter the Mermaid Pageant. On Sunday at 4 pm, the pageant will feature children and adult mermaids. There’s no entry fee to join the pageant, and a winner will be crowned for several categories.
The parade starts at 11 am on Saturday the 21st and will begin at the Ocean Ave library. After it begins, it will continue on for about eight blocks. 3. Palm Beach Food and Wine Festival

Whether you like wine or food, the event will not disappoint. If you don’t like either, the event may turn you into someone who has a new appreciation for food and wine.
This year marks the 11th consecutive year of the event. It will take place on the Lower Level of the Gardens Mall. In the past, thousands of people gathered to enjoy samplings from local restaurants. During the event, there will be over 50 of the best South Florida restaurants at the event. Of course, there will also be plenty of wines to sample. There will be international selections as well as some local ones.
The festival ends with a bang. Three chefs from the area will compete to win the Grand Chef Throwdown. With a $10,000 prize at stake, the competitors have a lot to lose. Whether you go for the competition, the food, or the wine, it’s an event that will leave you satisfied. However, families should be aware that this event is only for those over the age of 21.
4. Lagoon Fest
One of the things that makes Palm Beach County great is the local nature. When you step outdoors, you can find incredible animals and plants along the waterways. This year’s Lagoon Fest will take place on November 4th from 9 am to 2 pm at the West Palm Beach Waterfront. The main goal of the event is to celebrate the Lake Worth Lagoon and everything it has to offer. For those interested in animals, there will be several wildlife presentations. During them, you can view some of the local animals up close and personal while you learn some facts about them. Meanwhile, children can enjoy a variety of fun crafts and activities.
